Coffee now may help with this very common skin problemCoffee now may help with this very common skin problemAnother good day for coffee drinkers. According to a new study, published in JAMA Dermatology, women who drank four or more cups of caffeinated coffee a day had a 23% lower risk of having the skin disorder rosacea. The researchers used data from 82,737 women participating in a large health study between 1991 and 2005. They also collected data on coffee consumption every four years and reported 4,945 cases of clinician-diagnosed rosacea over the same time period. The results indicated that those in the highest one-fifth of caffeine consumption were 24% less likely to have the skin condition. Specifically, those who drank four or more cups a day had 23% less risk of having rosacea than those who drank only one cup. However, do note thatthe study doesnt prove that coffee causes rosacea risk to decrease. Other caffeinated substances and their link to rosacea were also not considered s uch as tea and soda.
